Real estate industry professionals are an incredibly generous group of people so choosing just one winner for a Community Service Award is always a tough gig! At our last awards, the submissions were so incredible the ONE Agency group’s international network couldn’t split two of the finalists so the award went to both offices, for their wonderful efforts.

Principal of the Mildura office, Mark Thornton initiated the Lucas Foundation in 2014. The objective was to support families with a sick child, where the families had to travel to Melbourne or Adelaide for treatment. In 2022, the foundation joined forces with the Mildura Base Public Hospital Foundation and their fundraising efforts have now topped $2.4 million. Mark commented, “For months on end families with a child receiving treatments are away from home, causing tremendous financial pressure. The Lucas Foundation was created to raise money to pass on to these families. And we are so proud to be a part of something that does such tremendous work in our community.”
Pete and Keryn Angle are the Principals of One Agency Gympie. The Angles, through their Gympie-based real estate business, have been tireless supporters of the local hospital’s initiative ‘Wishlist’.
Pete and Keryn’s mission is to build a home to sell with the proceeds to be donated to Wishlist. The Angles have donated a block of land and secured the services of Ausmar Homes to build the house. Keryn Angle said, “It was quite an emotional win for us as Pete and I are so very proud and excited by this project. Because the proceeds from the sale will go to support the Gympie Hospital and its local patients.” The Angles are hopeful that the completed property will be sold in early winter 2024.
